At Croom Family Resource Centre (FRC), we highlight community development by enhancing the participation of our community members, encouraging inclusivity and empowerment, and advocating for their needs. To support this, we offer a variety of groups for community members to engage in, including music groups like The Local Vocals and Ukulele, as well as art classes, chair yoga, the English Conversation Club, and educational training programmes such as the Special Needs Assistant Course.
In addition to these initiatives, we provide essential support services, including Food Support and assistance with Period Poverty. Each month, we collaborate with Mid-West Simon to operate a Food Bank at Croom FRC, where we distribute food packs containing non-perishable items like pasta, beans, peas, soup, and tomatoes.
We organise courses and workshops focused on awareness and practical skills to support those facing food and nutritional poverty.
We promote period equity & dignity for all by supplying the community with period products through the installation of the period vending machines around the community and the distribution of free period products from our centre.
